Governance
Midlands is governed by an Association Group comprising a representative from each of the five constituent Associations, effectively the "shareholders", who appoint a Board of Directors. The current Directors are:
Jon Tanner - Chairman

After a successful playing career representing Waikato, Otago, Canterbury and New Zealand, Jon enjoyed further success coaching at all levels from age group through to the National Hockey League. He was instrumental in promoting and implementing the initial amalgamation of the Waikato and Counties Hockey Associations to compete in the then premier division of the National Tournament and then the subsequent formation of what has become Midlands Hockey. Jon holds a number of directorhships and is a member of the NZ Institute of Directors. Jon lives in Hamilton and is a shareholder and senior advisor with Craigs Investment Partners. Jon is also chairman of the Midlands High Performance Advisory Board.
Graham Courtney 
Graham is a principal of Richardsons Real Estate in Ngatea and has lived in the Thames Valley most of his life. Graham chairs the committee that established the turf in Ngatea, including recently its resurfacing. He won the Thames Coromandel Service to Sport Award for 2005.
Kevin Marr
Kevin is the Managing Director of Self Care Group Ltd, a company providing products, service, education and support to New Zealand's spa and beauty professionals. He is a qualified accountant, with a degree in Business Management and extensive accounting, auditing and general business experience. Kevin played representative and club hockey in the Waikato and is currently the Manager of the New Zealand Men's Hockey Team.
Noelene Stafford
Noelene has had a long involvement with Hockey at all levels and in all roles, playing, coaching, managing and umpiring. Noelene holds a service award from Hockey New Zealand and in the administration area has been an executive member of Tauranga Hockey, in roles of Secretary, Treasurer and President. Noelene was a member of Tauranga's first turf committee and was chairperson of the water turf committee. A life member of Tauranga Hockey, Noelene is the current chairperson of the Youth Council of Hockey New Zealand. Her expertise has been a part of the Midlands Hockey organisation since the start of the NHL competitions in 1999.
Haydn Steel
Haydn has been both a representative player and coach, and has supported hockey in New Zealand at all levels for many years. Haydn owns and operates a Hamilton based business and has been instrumental in establishing the Midlands Supporters Club.
Craig Hobbs
Craig played hocked to provincial level with Auckland, Canterbury, North Harbour and Wellington and is a NZHF Level 3 accredited coach. The pinnacle of his coaching career was taking the New Zealand U21 team to the 2001 Junior World Cup.
Currently the Central Region General Manager with the Radio Network, Craig has experience in not-for-profit and high performance sport environmnets, having previously been the CEO of Paralympics New Zealand and CEO of the National Maratime Museum.
A member of the NZ Institute of Directors, Craig currently sits on two other not-for-profit Boards and has commercial Board experience.
Gregg Brown
Gregg Brown is Managing Director of Aber Investments Limited, a family company founded by Gregg’s Father in 1980. Aber Investments owns a variety of companies, all operating in the energy products area. Gregg is heavily involved with the gas industry and growing gas as the fuel of choice in New Zealand. He is currently the Chairperson of the Gas Equipment Suppliers and a Director of Gas Association of New Zealand (GANZ).
Gregg holds a Business Management degree from the University of Waikato majoring in Marketing and Accounting and is a Chartered Accountant. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and a Director of the Waikato Hockey Association.
Outside of work, Gregg is married to Suzanne and they have 3 active boys. He is involved with the boys various sports and finds time to play hockey, squash, tennis, skiing, and take part in multi-sports events.
